Job Title: Estimator (Apply Here)

 
Description:
The Estimator will be responsible for providing details (takeoffs) for each proposal issued to them by the Estimating Manager. The Estimator will review each customer RFQ and organize for proper and prompt proposal preparation, using standard forms and methods.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential duties and responsibilities of this job are included but not limited to this job description – other tasks may be assigned and expected to be performed.

  • Review the RFQ to understand its intent, requirements, details, timing and scope.
  • Understand the manner to which the Owner needs it presented.
  • Walk and review the jobsite conditions.
  • Creates as detailed as possible take-offs for the equipment and all ancillary devices shown, specified or needed based on the scope and overall conveyor knowledge.
  • Contacts sub-contractors for bids scope of supply not facilitated by KCI, Incorporated as required.
  • Prepares bid packs for the sub-contractors.
  • Continually review all customer general specifications and standards to ensure compliance.
  • Get pricing on purchased equipment and fabricated items, as necessary.
  • Adds costs to each line item in the estimate.
  • Ensures that all items of work are included.
  • Review subcontractor’s proposal for content, price and clarifications and include a matrix of rank.
  • Consider cost savings or value-added alternates.
  • Review any engineering or feasibility considerations.
  • Assists in preparing final quote & documents to submit to the customer as required. Detail & clarifications are critical.
  • Establish a plan for the timing and getting the SOW accomplished.
  • Review the quote with the Estimating Manager and Sales.
  • Review the quote with management, as required.
  • Work with engineering and operations as necessary to complete the quote.
  • Provide critical as sold information, job kickoff and setup for job budget.
  • Provide job field order and/or change order estimates as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of directly related experience in industrial construction, mechanical engineering, or a related industrial discipline, preferably in the automotive or industrial fiberglass manufacturing industry.
  • Associates Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred (or combination of equivalent work/education experience)
  • AutoCAD – at minimum, must be able to use for reading, plotting, and dimensioning.
  • Proficient with MS Word and Project. Advanced proficiency in Excel required.
  • Requires some travel including overnight to attend bid meetings and to review job sites. Position could involve out of country travel, but rarely.
  • Detail oriented and organizational skills are a must.
  • Work well in fast paced, time-sensitive, deadline-oriented environment.

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (Apply Here)

 

Description

Mechanical Engineers create detailed engineering drawings, specifications and technical requirements. Position reviews design documents for accuracy, completeness & constructability & creates Bills of Material (BOMS).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential duties and responsibilities of this job are included but not limited to this job description – other tasks may be assigned and expected to be performed.

  • Design & revision of AutoCAD 2D & Inventor 3D industrial equipment with Bill of Materials (BOM) creation.
  • Document design narratives and engineering analysis
  • Capable of conveyance, structural support steel, automation, thermal expansion, production facility, environment (including detailing parts) system layout and machine design.
  • Travel to job sites to conduct equipment health assessments and trouble-shoot and perform field verifications of drawings as needed (typically not more than 1-2 days/month but can be needed for longer trips to client locations occasionally).
Requirements:
  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related field.
  • 10+ years’ experience in related mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent in an industrial design build environment in the automotive and/or fiberglass insulation manufacturing industries.
  • Fluency in AutoCAD inventor and vault required.
  • Experience in Solidworks, Inventor and/or Demo 3D software a plus.
  • Strong mechanical understanding of industrial fabrication processes, CAD & modeling required.
  • Strong Microsoft Suites and Microsoft Teams experience required.

Work Environment: Primarily an office environment unless traveling to client’s plant which could include varied temperatures, dust, dirt and steel toe boot requirements.

Job Title: Production Coordinator (Apply Here)

 

Description:

The Production Coordinator manages the industrial manufacturing services process and determines if items on BOMS go to the shop, purchasing or go to outside specialty sub-fabricators.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential duties and responsibilities of this job are included but not limited to this job description – other tasks may be assigned and expected to be performed.

  • Strong, demonstrated work experience in industrial fabrication, assembly and installation manufacturing processes is preferred. Direct experience in automotive or fiberglass insulation manufacturing project management a plus.
  • Contact sub-fabricators for quotes, determine what is in-house, purchasing or sub-fabricator.
  • Review and release Engineering AutoCAD or Inventor drawings.
  • Coordinate between Project Managers and Purchasing/Manufacturing Services.
  • Manage Purchasing Agent; Write and give mid-year and annual performance reviews.
  • Manage company expectations & customer interactions & expectations from Engineering to Shop & Ship to client.
  • Formulate written and verbal updates for meetings concerning work progress, scheduling & costs.
  • Works closely with purchasing department to assure orders are processed.
  • Regular and timely attendance.
  • Other tasks/functions/projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • An Associate’s degree or equivalent education & work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years work experience in purchasing & vendor management in industrial fabrication manufacturing environments.
  • Strong skills in AutoCAD, Microsoft office & Advanced Excel.
  • Highly detailed position working with demanding scheduled & tight timelines.
  • Must be able to work independently and be able to multi-task and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in QAD Accounting system a plus.
