  • Strong, demonstrated work experience in industrial fabrication and assembly machine processes is required.
  • Direct experience in automotive or fiberglass insulation conveyors & process machinery a plus.
  • Manage all shop staffing, employees, timesheets, schedules and employee relations issues.
  • Coordinates all ahop scheduling, training, equipment, maintenance and facility needs.
  • Coordinates with Sales, Project Managers, Engineering, Managers and Employees on all shop workflow progress.
  • Creates and manages shop job workflow and staffing needs; coordinates overtime as needed.
  • Member of company Safety Committee and Management Team.
  • Regular and timely attendance including overtime as needed or required.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience as a manufacturing manager in industrial fabrication/assembly shop, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong skills interpreting AutoCAD drawings & BOMs and working with Microsoft Office & Excel software.
  • Strong management, communication and safety skills.
  • OSHA 30 preferred.

Job Title: Estimating Manager (Apply Here)

  • Manage internal estimating department staff to meet estimating deadlines.
  • Maintain estimating calendar and schedule to meet estimate deadlines.
  • Manage, coach & communicate with department staff members while effectively coordinating with Engineering, Sales and Manufacturing Services.
  • Write mid-year and annual performance reviews and effectively communicate them with department employees.
  • Communicate & coordinate with Sales and other departments as needed to assure timely estimate completion.
  • Occasional travel as needed.
  • Other tasks/functions/projects as assigned.
Requirements:
  • B.S. in Industrial Management, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or related industrial discipline
  • Specialization with conveyor systems, automation, specialty tools, heat & mass transfer processes required.
  • Engineering & Skilled trades background required.
  • Extensive fabrication, manufacturing process & estimating management experience specifically in the automotive & fiberglass insulation manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Strong skills in AutoCAD & Microsoft Suite & Advanced Excel skills & experience required.
  • 5-10 years industrial manufacturing estimating experience required.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
  • Works cooperatively and is able to multi-task and prioritize work to meet deadlines.

Job Title: Estimator (Apply Here)

 
Description:
The Estimator will be responsible for providing details (takeoffs) for each proposal issued to them by the Estimating Manager. The Estimator will review each customer RFQ and organize for proper and prompt proposal preparation, using standard forms and methods.

  • Review the RFQ to understand its intent, requirements, details, timing and scope.
  • Understand the manner to which the Owner needs it presented.
  • Walk and review the jobsite conditions.
  • Creates as detailed as possible take-offs for the equipment and all ancillary devices shown, specified or needed based on the scope and overall conveyor knowledge.
  • Contacts sub-contractors for bids scope of supply not facilitated by KCI, Incorporated as required.
  • Prepares bid packs for the sub-contractors.
  • Continually review all customer general specifications and standards to ensure compliance.
  • Get pricing on purchased equipment and fabricated items, as necessary.
  • Adds costs to each line item in the estimate.
  • Ensures that all items of work are included.
  • Review subcontractor’s proposal for content, price and clarifications and include a matrix of rank.
  • Consider cost savings or value-added alternates.
  • Review any engineering or feasibility considerations.
  • Assists in preparing final quote & documents to submit to the customer as required. Detail & clarifications are critical.
  • Establish a plan for the timing and getting the SOW accomplished.
  • Review the quote with the Estimating Manager and Sales.
  • Review the quote with management, as required.
  • Work with engineering and operations as necessary to complete the quote.
  • Provide critical as sold information, job kickoff and setup for job budget.
  • Provide job field order and/or change order estimates as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of directly related experience in industrial construction, mechanical engineering, or a related industrial discipline, preferably in the automotive or industrial fiberglass manufacturing industry.
  • Associates Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred (or combination of equivalent work/education experience)
  • AutoCAD – at minimum, must be able to use for reading, plotting, and dimensioning.
  • Proficient with MS Word and Project. Advanced proficiency in Excel required.
  • Requires some travel including overnight to attend bid meetings and to review job sites. Position could involve out of country travel, but rarely.
  • Detail oriented and organizational skills are a must.
  • Work well in fast paced, time-sensitive, deadline-oriented environment.

Job Title: Mechanical Engineering Designer (Apply Here)

 

Description

The Mechanical Engineering Designer creates detailed engineering drawings, specifications and technical requirements. Reviews design documents for accuracy, completeness & constructability. Creates Bills of Material (BOMS). Communicates as needed with Project Managers, Project Engineer, Engineering Manager, Manufacturing Services, Purchasing and Company management as required.

  • Design & revision in AutoCAD 2D & Inventor 3D industrial equipment with Bill of Materials (BOM) creation to meet customer requirements.
  • Establishes design specifications ensuring design meets application specifications and requirements for manufacturing ability and for customer need.
  • Creates, reviews and ensures accuracy of drawings, prints and processes.
  • Creates item masters, BOM/routings in the MRP system.
  • Has the ability to effectively communicate engineering requirements with internal and external customers.
  • Completes design revisions as assigned.
  • Documents design narratives and engineering analysis
  • Capable of conveyance, structural support steel, automation, thermal expansion, production facility, environment (including detailing parts) system layout and machine design.
  • Occasional travel to client sites (10% or less).
Requirements:
  • Associates or B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related field.
  • 1-5 years’ experience in related mechanical engineering discipline or equivalent in an industrial design build environment in the automotive and/or fiberglass insulation manufacturing industries.
  • Strong Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively independently or on a team.
  • Strong problem-solving & critical thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing shop fabrication processes.
  • Personal commitment to safety.
  • Capable of conveyance system layout, machine design & detailing parts.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledgeable in controls, structural steel, automation, thermal expansion and production fabrication practices.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D, Inventor 3D & Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Work Environment: Primarily an office environment unless traveling to client’s plant which could include varied temperatures, dust, dirt and steel toe boot requirements.
