KCI ENGINEERING
KCI's Engineering Department has modern facilities and the latest computer hardware and software. Over 3,500 square feet of floor space is dedicated to the engineering offices and engineering library.
Our engineering professionals have diverse backgrounds with specific emphasis in custom automated tooling design. KCI utilizes various design programs and tools according to customers' preferences. The various disciplines that can be provided by KCI are mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, structural, and civil. Ergonomics is also an important part of our work at KCI, designing tools and automated systems that coordinate task requirements with the physical capacities of workers. We have automated many processes that were previously causing physical problems for our customer’s employees, thereby improving their working conditions and reducing employer costs related to workplace injuries.
Innovation plays an important role in our problem solving. The department's ingenuity has manifested itself in twelve patent disclosures and nine patent certificates. In addition, three software programs written by our engineers have copyright protection.
Professional responsibility is a major part of any engineering organization. KCI has registered professional engineers on staff. Professional memberships include the Society of Automotive Engineers, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, and the American Society for Mechanical Engineers. All personnel work under the signatory agreements of confidentiality we have with our customers.
